Tocopheryl Acetate
Tocopheryl Acetate, also known as Vitamin E Acetate, is a form of Vitamin E that encompasses both antioxidant, protective, and natural skin-conditioning properties. It is chemically constituted of acetic acid and α-tocopherol (Vitamin E), available from natural sources like avocado, pumpkin, and wheat germ oil, as well as in synthetic forms. Its lipophilic nature makes it an excellent ingredient for providing the skin with moisturizing protection, allowing for its benefits to be absorbed through the skin. However, the body needs to remove the acetate group to absorb and utilize tocopherol from tocopheryl acetate, with an estimated 5% conversion to free tocopherol when applied to the skin
