Pigment Green 8

CI 10006-Green (Pigment Green 8), also known as Sodium tris(1,2-naphthoquinone 1-oximato-O,O')ferrate(1-), is an anionic surfactant with excellent coloring capabilities, belonging to the oximate category. Its chemical numbers include CASRN: 16143-80-9 and EINECS: 240-299-7, with the molecular formula C30H18FeN3NaO6 and a molecular weight of 595.31. This compound appears as a solid, insoluble in water, but stable. However, as a solid substance, it is flammable and may cause irritation to the skin, eyes, and respiratory system, producing harmful CO and CO2 gases when burned. In the ecological environment, CI 10006-Green may pose a particular risk to water bodies but is biodegradable.



Uses in Cosmetics

CI 10006-Green has a variety of effects and applications, some of which are listed below:

Used as a dye or pigment.
According to EU regulations, it can be applied to rinse-off products.


CI 10006-Green is obtained through chemical synthesis, involving a combination of various chemicals, including 1,2-naphthoquinone oxime and ferrous sodium salt.

Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals 

Solid form: Flammable substance; may cause irritation to the skin, eyes, and respiratory system.
Heavy metals (as Pb) ≤ 20 mg/kg, arsenic ≤ 3 mg/kg, complying with the safety and technical standards for cosmetics.
