香葉天竺葵精油
Geranium Essential Oil / Pelargonium graveolens
Geranium (Pelargonium graveolens), belonging to the Geraniaceae family, is a perennial plant that grows up to 80cm tall with pale pink flower buds. Originating from Egypt, North Africa, China, and Reunion Island, about half of the world’s supply comes from Reunion Island, near Madagascar. Geranium essential oil is distilled from the leaves of the plant, requiring 300-500 kg of plant material to produce just 1 kg of oil, making it a precious commodity.
The oil is a transparent light green to yellow-green color, emitting a fresh, pleasant aroma with a strong floral and sweet scent, including subtle fruity notes. This makes it an indispensable ingredient in the perfume industry. Geranium essential oil is known for its complex composition, containing over 200 different components, especially high levels of geraniol and citronellol, which makes its effects similar to those of rose oil. It promotes relaxation of both body and mind, contributing to emotional and physical balance.
