Cumin Essential Oil / Cuminum cyminum
Cumin (also known as Caraway), scientifically known as Cuminum cyminum, belongs to the Apiaceae family and the Cuminum genus. It is a plant native to the Mediterranean, Egypt, and Asia. Cumin can grow up to 30 cm tall, featuring narrow, dark green leaves and small flowers in white or pink, eventually giving way to its seeds. The essential oil extracted from cumin seeds through distillation carries a unique tangy and spicy scent reminiscent of roasted lamb skewers, characterized by its strong, pungent, and spicy aroma.
