Coriander Essential Oil / Coriandrum sativum
Coriander (Coriander, scientific name: Coriandrum sativum) belongs to the Apiaceae family and is an annual herb that originates from the Mediterranean coast of Europe. It has been widely used in cooking and medical fields. Its seeds, known as coriander seeds or cilantro seeds, are called Koris in Greek, meaning beetle, because its crushed leaves emit a beetle-like odor. However, the aroma of coriander seeds is very pleasant, with a powdery sweet smell, making it an indispensable component in the perfume industry and tobacco flavoring.
