Cardamom Essential Oil / Elettaria cardamomum
Cardamom Oil (Elettaria cardamomum) also known as Indian cardamom, fine cardamom, green cardamom, is an essential oil derived from the perennial herb cardamom in the ginger family. Native to India, Sri Lanka, and the Indochina peninsula, the essential oil is mainly produced in South America and France. Cardamom is a multi-leaf, stem-bearing shrub that can grow up to 5.5 meters, with very long leaves and pale yellow flowers, the tops of which turn slightly purple. Its elongated grey fruits contain a variety of seeds, typically harvested before the fruit matures for oil extraction.
