Conclusions of the European Union's Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety (SCCS):
1.In May 2019, the Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety (SCCS) of the European Commission concluded that the use of Butylphenyl Methylpropional in both rinse-off and leave-on cosmetics "cannot be considered safe."
2.Background for the Ban:
This conclusion was based on animal studies that found Butylphenyl Methylpropional to be toxic to reproduction. Therefore, Butylphenyl Methylpropional was reclassified as a substance prohibited for use in the EU.
3.Implementation of the Ban:
From March 2022 onwards, the use of Lilial in cosmetics has been officially prohibited.
4.Health Risks:
It can sometimes act as an allergen and may cause contact dermatitis in susceptible individuals.
Our company's products do not contain Butylphenyl Methylpropional.
