Agarwood / Aquilaria malaccenis
Agarwood Oil (Agarwood / Aquilaria sinensis, Aquilaria agallocha, Aquilaria malaccensis) is derived from the resin of the Agarwood tree in the Thymelaeaceae family, obtained through solvent extraction or supercritical extraction. When the heartwood is damaged or infected by fungi, the tree secretes a richly fragrant resin, traditionally known as "aloeswood." Agarwood is classified into two types based on the infection or stimulation: "planted agarwood," which secretes less resin and "wild agarwood," which secretes more resin and sinks in water due to its higher density, making it more valuable.
